THERE IS CLEAN AND THERE IS REALLY CLEAN

Growing up, I used the same face wash. It worked for me, and I have always been the type of person to stick with what I know. Now, I am getting older and my skin is changing. I decided a few months that I needed to start paying more attention to my skin because it was with me for the long haul.

I started to use Benefits Refined Skin Polish. I read a few reviews and watched some videos and decided I would give it a try because I was always of fan of Benefit's boo boo zap! growing up. The idea of sticking with what you know has sort of come back to bite me in butt. I was not as happy with this as I expected to be, which is why I am turning to my fellow HI-STYLERS for help.

I asked them a few questions about their skin-type and what they use and why. Check it out below, and hopefully they will lead you and me in the right direction!

What do you use to wash your face?
I tend to go back and forth between a few products depending on what my face is doing. If I'm having general skin issues, I'll use any of the Neutrogena foaming scrubs, perhaps with my Olay face brush. If my skin needs a more refined and focused touch, I attack with the Murad system. It's pricey, but it lasts forever and works.
General thoughts about your face wash? Like/Dislike and why
Murad has saved my life more than once. The cleansing formula leaves my skin feeling both squeaky clean and nourished, and it won't irritate my skin. I may have to phase out my beloved scrubs though, considering those innocent little beads that exfoliate my face so well are apparently killing all my ocean friends.
Do you have a routine?
I always wash my face in the shower - if I have the time I'll put on a mask a few minutes before I get in, then rinse it off with no muss or fuss.
What type of skin do you have?
I have combination oily-to-dry skin.

What do you use to wash your face?
I have always used the St. Ives Apricot Scrub.
General thoughts about your face wash?
I have been using the same face wash since I was 13, I love that I can feel my face becoming clean with the little tiny scrubbers. But part of me wants to call it quits and try something new, step away from what I know.
Do you have a routine?
Yes, I wash my face twice a day with my scrub. After that I use a spray toner, I have two- Lush Eau Roma Water and The Body Shop Vitamin E Face Mist. Then I apply my moisturiser, Lush Celestial. Once a week I try and use a face mask or give myself a mini facial to get rid of impurities and as a way to de-stress.
What type of skin do you have?
I have normal to dry skin.

BRB, I'm off to Ulta. What do you use to keep your face clean?
