CHAMPAGNE WISHES & DETOX DREAMS

Cases on cases on cases

Saturday was the Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic in Los Angeles, and you know HI-STYLE had to represent.

The day started out innocently enough - a boozy brunch at the Giggles pad, naturally.

Hey Past MKS - it's not a race. No, really.

I heard last year was a bit of a mess in terms of organization - but this year they knew better. We were greeted with VC sunnies and glass bottles of Aqua Panna. Never mind that nobody had a bottle opener, but c'est la vie.

The grounds were gorgeous, and it couldn't have been a more beautiful day. After we arrived, it was time to get pouring and get seated. We may be #VCpeasants, but that didn't stop us from indulging.

We were too late to get a picnic table, but we snagged a front row spot on the grass - well within firing range of the game. A rogue polo ball would be one hell of a souvenir, I can tell you that. Those things are heavy!

A brief respite from the heat in our VC shades

We toasted, we lounged, we watched a very small amount of actual polo and conversely drank a very large amount of actual Veuve.

But after we champagned the day away, as Gangs of Four so eloquently put it - I found this heaven gives me migraines.

So it was time to detox.

I recently got this new purifying face mask from from First Aid Beauty called Skin Rescue; the appeal was that it was a peel-off mask like in American Psycho, which I have always wanted to try. Unbeknownst to me, it was an Allure Best Of Beauty winner!

Goes on smooth, leaves you looking like a chemical peel victim - but baby-fresh afterwards.

SATC knows what I'm talkin' about.
Next step was healing my insides, so I turned to Juice Served Here on 3rd Street for a #19.

A nice big glass of charcoal activated lemonade to detox my liver and make me feel better (right? This is good for me? Whatever, it's black and weird and is secretly lemonade, I like it).

We came, we saw, we conquered. Until next time, #VCPoloClassic - when hopefully we will be in the VIP section.
