HOW CAN I WEAR THAT: MARBLED ZARA CROP TOP

HI-STYLE is proud to announce HOW CAN I WEAR THAT, a series dedicated to those pieces in our closets with the tags still on because while we love them, we have no clue how to style them. Once we identify the culprit, each of us will weigh in on how our fellow HI-STYLER could rock that impulse buy without fear - or guilt.

MKS: MARBLED ZARA CROP TOP

Look, I'll admit it - I can't resist a sale. If it's on clearance, 75% off, going out of business, I'm there. And when a place I already love at full price decides to discount? Get out of my way, professional coming through. I'll find that coveted item everyone was looking for, and I'll get it at a fraction of the price. Sorry not sorry.

Zara is one of those places that I just can't stay away from during one of their half-yearly events. A couple sales ago I snatched this marbled crop top for a song - I love the fit, and I couldn't wait to wear it. But I kept waiting...and waiting. I still have yet to take the tags off!
So, HI-STYLE - HOW CAN I WEAR THAT?

POUNCING AROUND

Hat, Zara. Jeans, Nasty Gal. Jacket, Asos. Shoes, Converse
MEM: Since I know I'm going to be wearing a crop top, or "baby shirt" as I like to call them, I would go for a high-waisted pant that has just a smidgen of skin revealing itself. To keep it casual I would throw on a pair of my go-to sneakers, a sporty bomber jacket, and of course I can't help but throw in a little quirk with the cat ear beanie! For me, this is the perfect romping around outfit.

STRAP HAPPY

Glasses, Asos. Pants, Asos. Heels, Topshop.
MVM: I would wear this crop top with a looser pair of black trousers to off-balance the top.  I don't generally like to wear an entire outfit that hugs my body, but I do love a good crop top! I chose a nice pair of strappy sandals to hit the town in, probably to head to a late dinner. Luckily the sun stays out nice and late during the summer, so I threw in a pair of lust-worthy sunglasses.

SPORTY SPICE

Jacket, H&M. Skirt, Topshop. Slides, Asos

MKS: I love pairing a crop top with a midi skirt; it's a good way to tone down the crop but amp up the midi. I think I'll branch out of my usual monochrome look with a hot pink pleated skirt with a sporty waistband. The slides are so in right now, and will add a casual but trendy edge. And because I can't wear anything lady-like without roughing it up a little, I'll throw a sweet biker jacket over my shoulders.

Given all these great options, I think I can finally take the tags off! Another problem solved by HI-STYLE.
